This course is designed for Federal employees who participate in their organization's operational and program decision-making processes and need a basic understanding on the various risk management, principles, tools, techniques and assessments to facilitate risk-based decisions.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand the basic risk management principles, tools, and techniques
Understand the basic components of risk to include situational assessment, probability and impact
Make well- informed, risk trade-off decisions with an appreciation for the organization's funding constraints
Use the basic tenants of Earned Value Management to mitigate the risk of exceeding project budget, scope and schedule constraints
Use simple probability models to assess programmatic outcomes (desirable and un-desirable
Apply the basic premise of risk management to both standardized and ad-hoc business models

Supervisory discretion - Intermediate level
